The FAQs

Why should I have a wedding video?

A wedding is a celebration of love and commitment between two people. Those memories, though unforgettable, will become more distant as time goes on. Still photos, while an important element for a wedding, are only able to convey one instance of a memory at a time. A wedding video, on the other hand, brings the story of your wedding to life. All the emotions and memories will be captured. Only through video are you able to capture the true essence of what you were feeling during your wedding day. Having a wedding video will allow you to relive your special day long into the future.

Why should I need a videographer when I already have a photographer?

Videography and photography are two different entities through and through. We may use some of the same equipment, but the techniques and thought processes are different. Photography is meant to take instances of an event – a snapshot. A photo is a summary of what the subject felt or experienced during that moment in time. Videography, on the other hand, is meant to show the journey that the couple experienced during their wedding day. Those candid moments that would otherwise be viewed as a photo, is expanded upon through video. With videography, you witness the anxiety before the ceremony, the limitless love while the couple locks eyes during the vows, and the unforgettable celebration with your family and friends during the reception. Both photography and videography have their benefits. It's up to you to figure out what is most important.

We would like our wedding to be filmed, but the price seems too expensive. Why is this?

Filming a wedding is not as simple as grabbing a camera and pressing the record button. There are many hours and costs involved. Proper preparation is what allows us provide you a wedding film of the highest quality. We consult with you as much as possible through phone, email, and in-person meetings so we are always on the same page. We must account for the right video production gear like cameras, tripods, audio recording equipment, lighting, and other specialty tools ( e.g. drone and camera gimbal ) needed to properly capture your wedding. Then, we film your wedding – which is where all our preparation pays off and our experience as a professional video crew shines. After your wedding, we must edit the footage into a cinematic film that conveys the story of your wedding day – which involves a whole other set of skills. As you can see, it takes a lot of logistics and planning to ensure filming for a wedding goes off without a hitch. Our prices are highly competitive for the quality of work we put out. You are not only paying for a wedding video; you are also investing in our experience and expertise to give you the best product possible.

Why do you charge a flat rate while other wedding videographers charge hourly?

We are a big believer in ensuring you get the wedding video of your dreams. If we allow ourselves to be limited by time, your wedding video will be heavily diminished in quality. There can be moments that we miss that would otherwise allow us to tell your story to the fullest. Because of that thought process, we charge a flat rate for our services. Our pricing is highly competitive and you will get the most value out of our flat rates. In the end, our goal is to deliver the highest quality video that best encapsulates what you experienced during your wedding day.

Which wedding video package should I get?

It all depends on your needs. Everything starts with our base package, the CINEMATIC FILM. If all you want is a wedding highlight video, stick with the base package. If you want to create your own custom package, take the base package and select the add-ons that appeal to you the most. Or if want to keep it simple, you can select one of our recommended wedding video packages. From our past experiences, these packages represent what most couples are looking for at different budgets. Our goal is to offer as many options as possible with ranging combinations so you can find a package perfect for your needs.

Do I get more value out of certain wedding video packages?

Our wedding video packages are priced fairly and with transparency. We don't believe in encouraging couples to purchase a package that's outside of their budget. For that reason, we don't employ discounts with higher priced packages. This means you get exactly what you pay for. This allows you to freely choose a package that best fits your needs and budget without losing value. Same goes for our recommended packages versus choosing your own custom package. The price would be the same if you built a custom package that has the same features as one of our recommended packages. The recommended packages are based off what previous couples have chosen and are merely there to help should you ever find yourself unable to choose.

Will having a wedding videographer be distracting to guests?

As professional wedding videographers, one of the requirements is to be as unobtrusive as possible. Though our goal is to capture the important moments of your wedding, we also don't want to take away from it by attracting attention to ourselves. However, there will be some occasions throughout your wedding where we would like to provide some direction – just like the photographer. This will allow us to capture the essential footage needed to tell your story.

How long will it take for my video(s) to be finished?

It typically takes us 6-10 weeks to complete your video(s). Editing takes a lot of time because we must comb through hours of footage and assemble it into a cohesive story that best conveys your wedding. Don't fret! We can always arrange a rush service for an additional fee if you need your video(s) as soon as possible.

How will my video(s) be delivered to me?

The Cinematic Film will be available through digital download. If you have included Multicam Edit videos in your package, they will also be available through digital download. These digital download link will be available temporarily, so make sure to download a copy for yourself. Unfortunately, the Doc Edit add-on will not be available for digital download because the file size is too large. Instead, we will put all your videos onto a flash drive and mail them to you. The Cinematic Film and Multicam Edit videos will still be available for digital download as well.

Can I make copies of my videos?

Yes you can! You paid for them so why not? As long as you save a copy for yourself, it's yours forever. Send them to your loved ones that weren't able to make your wedding. Or let us take care of that. Include the EXTRA FLASH DRIVE add-on to your package to send a flash drive of your videos to a loved one. Shipping is included. Order as many of this add-on as you'd like and we'll get those flash drives to where they need to be.

What is the Memory Box?

This is a very special way to deliver content to you. We start with an unfinished palm-sized wooden box. We laser engrave your names and wedding date. Then, we stain it. We place your videos in a flash drive and put it inside your custom box and deliver it to you. We made it the right size to be repurposed as a jewlery box or you may keep it the way we intended it. Our hope is that the Memory Box will be a special momento that will help you remember your special day and house your videos so you will always know where they are.

Why don't you give out the raw footage?

We understand that many of our competitors offer the raw footage from weddings. Unfortunately, it doesn't add value to the experience of your wedding day. It would be as if your photographer handed you all the photos of your wedding day including the unusable ones. You would get hundreds to thousands of photos including out of focus, incorrectly framed, and improperly exposed photos. You will get the same thing with raw video footage – and we tend to have five or more hours of raw footage. The good news is that we offer the DOC EDIT which is all the raw footage curated so the unusable footage is removed. So instead of five hours of jumbled footage, you get around 90 minutes of footage from your wedding day arranged documentary style – organized in chronological order from the beginning of the day to the end of the day.
